Root Smithing

Leather Hides

Here are a few pictures of some of the leather hides we have brought in to begin completion of our leather ceiling art.

Any Material, Any Method (or a day in the life)

Because Aaron R. Thomas has a skilled team of hands on artisans we are often called on to create pieces that no one else can. Today for example we are bending steel, blacksmithing steel, carving wood, bending acrylic, etching acrylic, molding leather, heatproofing glass, building custom tooling, and painting.

Blacksmithed Root Table

Here Aaron uses blacksmithing techniques to create each root for a large table base.

Bending Steel

Here Aaron bends steel to use as "roots" to suspend a 1300lb slab of petrified wood.

Playing With Fire

Aaron uses a high output propane torch to create the exact look he is going for in this burnt wood application. By controlling the direction and intensity of the flame he is able to char the edges and give the wood subtle but rich colors. After the wood is sufficiently cooled, he will apply a proprietary rubberized clear coat to give the pieces durability and prevent carbon from rubbing off onto anyone who comes into contact with it.

This is a little taste of some of Aaron's newest artwork which combines the old feel of hand carved ornate woodwork with his ever evolving brightly colored graffiti style.
